What is a sports therapist?
A Sports Therapist initially works with a patient immediately after injury through the use of first aid and trauma management. Following this stage, a Sports Therapist will provide an assessment, treat the injured area and rehabilitate the athlete until they are back to fully functional fitness.
What happens post treatment?
Once treatment is complete a Sports Therapist will then work on techniques to prevent the injury occurring again.
Why should I seek sports therapy?
Tom’s aim is to improve the quality of life for all his patients and provide a safe return to sport as quickly as possible. Tom’s patients include those competing at an elite level through to recreational athletes.
Do I have to be a sports person to book Tom?
Regardless of age or ability, Tom will treat anyone and commonly he treats people with office-based injuries (bad posture), the elderly and even patients who have had an unforeseen mishap nothing to do with sport!
