About
Tom graduated from the University of Central Lancashire with a degree in BSc (Hons) Sports therapy in July 2011. Since then Tom has been gaining plenty of experience both in a sporting environment, in a practice in Essex before making the move to Northern Ireland in 2020.
When you first see Tom he will perform a thorough injury assessment consisting of questions about the history of your injury and assessing range of motion, strength and tests to assess any injured tissues. This will be followed by treatment sessions, as well as being put through an individual rehabilitation programme to get you back to your optimum sporting performance. You will get all this with a friendly and professional service.
Tom spent four years working for SkyBet League 2 team Southend United F.C. where he assisted with the first team playing squad which even consisted of international footballers as well as working with the under 21 team and academy teams. Duties with Southend United included attending home first team fixtures and travelling with the team to away first team fixtures. Tom is registered and insured with the Society of Sports Therapists and is CRB checked. Tom also has experience in providing sports massage at events such as the London Marathon and the Great North Run.
In Tom’s spare time he is very keen on sport, having run several half marathons and even two London Marathons. Tom knows how important it is to be training towards a particular event but also how frustrating it is be injured but also how important it is to get back to sporting activity safely and with a minimised risk of the same injury occurring again in the future. Tom knows all about this after tearing his cartilage and spraining his cruciate ligament whilst playing football in September 2016.
